E-MEM 2540 Industrial RO Membrane
The E-MEM 2540 Industrial RO Membrane is a high-quality polyamide composite element designed for commercial and light-industrial reverse osmosis (RO) systems. It features an active area of approximately 2.8 m² (30 ft²) and a typical permeate output of 750 GPD (≈2.8 m³/day) under standard test conditions. With a salt rejection rate of ~99% and a compact 2.5″ diameter × 40″ length format, it fits smaller vessels while delivering robust performance.
Key Features
- Compact yet powerful: With an active membrane area of 30 ft² (2.8 m²) and ~750 GPD output, this model suits systems where space or budget is limited.
- High salt rejection: Delivers ~99% rejection of NaCl under testing conditions (1000 ppm NaCl, 25 °C, 15% recovery).
- Durable operating limits: Suitable for feed temperatures up to ~45 °C, maximum pressure ~600 psi (≈41.4 bar), SDI ≤5, free-chlorine <0.1 ppm.
- Versatile application: Ideal for light commercial RO setups, small‐scale water-bar systems, or laboratory water purification.

Why Choose the E-MEM 2540 Industrial RO Membrane?
When you require reliable RO performance in a compact footprint, the E-MEM 2540 Industrial RO Membrane stands out. It provides high salt rejection and decent throughput in the smaller 2.5″ diameter format, making it ideal for tight spaces or pilot systems. Moreover, because it maintains robust performance under standard conditions, you can trust it to deliver consistent water quality. In addition, its compatible specification means you can integrate it into existing vessels without major redesign.
Installation & Maintenance Tips
- Pre-treatment matters: Ensure feed water meets SDI ≤ 5 and is free of excessive chlorine (free Cl < 0.1 ppm) to protect membrane life.
- Initial flush: On first use, flush the new membrane at lower pressure for ~15-25 minutes, then at full pressure for 60-90 minutes, discarding the initial permeate.
- Monitor performance: Regularly check permeate flow, rejection, and differential pressure. A drop in performance often signals fouling or scaling.
- Cleaning schedule: Follow manufacturer guidance for chemical cleaning; avoid incompatible agents and back-pressure conditions.
- Storage: If unused, store wet or in a protective solution (e.g., 1% sodium bisulfite) to prevent microbial growth.
